GPS Signal Disruptions

Dear nextbike customers,
We know how much you value a smooth, stress-free ride, and we want to thank you for choosing us to get you where you need to go. Your trust is the most important part of our service, and we truly appreciate the care you take when returning your bikes to our stations.
What’s Happening?
Lately, some of you may have received an automated email regarding a return fee that didn't seem right. We understand that getting an alert like that can be confusing or frustrating, especially when you have done everything correctly.
Due to the ongoing conflict in Iran, there are temporary disruptions to GPS signals in certain areas. These disruptions are affecting the accuracy of our GPS signals, which sometimes incorrectly registers that a bicycle has been returned outside an official nextbike station - even when it has been properly parked at a designated station.
As a result, some riders have received automatic emails informing them of a €0.00 fee or warning about a potential fee.
Because we value your business and want to treat every customer fairly, we have put a "human-first" rule in place:
Physical Verification:
No fee will be charged unless our operations team physically confirms that a bike was left outside an official nextbike station.
If you returned your bike to a proper nextbike station, you can safely ignore the automated email. The recorded €0.00 fee is simply a system-generated notification caused by the temporary GPS interference and will not result in any actual charge.
What Should You Do?
Continue using nextbike as normal.
Always make sure to return bikes to official nextbike stations (visible as blue pins in the app).
If you receive one of these emails, there is no need to take any action — the fee will not be applied if the bike was returned correctly.
Our technical team is actively working to minimize any inconvenience caused by these disruptions.
