Service Fee for Improper Returns

A service fee of €20 is applied for returning the bike not to an official nextbike station outside of the yellow zone.
This fee is applied automatically upon an improper return.
The system will inform you for the upcoming service fee.

How to Avoid the Service Fee
If you accidentally return the bike improperly, you can avoid the €20 fee by:

Go back to the bike.
Renting it again.
Return the bike to an official nextbike station.

Note:

All bikes must always be returned to official nextbike Stations. These stations can be found on the app.

Returning Bikes in Yellow Zones:

A service fee of €2 is applied for returning the bike not to an official nextbike station inside of the yellow zone.
The system will inform you for the upcoming service fee.

HOW IT WORKS

REGISTER

Download the nextbike app.

Register via nextbike app.

By joining, you will also be able to rent nextbikes in every city worldwide where nextbike operates.

RENT

Rent a bike from anywhere you find an available one via nextbike app.
Scan the QR code on the bike or enter the bike number.

Press “Confirm” and receive a unique code on the app.

Enter the unique code on the bike’s keypad.

Once the code is verified you can unlock the bike by pulling the Forklock from the front wheel and placing it in the designated place on the right side of the basket. Enjoy your ride.

RETURN

Return the bike to an official station.

Lock the bike by pressing the Forklock inside the hole on the left side of the front wheel.

Press the OK button on the bike’s keypad, twice. The message “Bike returned” will appeared on the bike’s computer screen and on the app.

TEMPORARY STOP (OPTIONAL)

Lock the bike by pressing the Forklock inside the hole on the left side of the front wheel.

Press the “P” button on the bike’s keypad. As soon as the bike enters on the temporary stop mode, the message “Parking” will appear on the bike’s computer screen and on the app.

For the bike to be active again and exit the temporary stop mode type the unique code, you received on the app at the beginning of your rental, on the bike’s keypad.

Once the code is verified you can unlock the bike by pulling the Forklock from the front wheel and placing it in the designated place on the right of the basket and continue your ride.

REGISTER

Download the nextbike app.

Register via nextbike app.

By joining, you will also be able to rent nextbikes in every city worldwide where nextbike operates.

RENT

Rent a bike from anywhere you find an available one via nextbike app.

Scan the QR code on the bike or enter the bike number.

The framelock will be released and the rental will begin.

If the framelock is stucked then choose “Show rental” on the nextbike app and press "Open Lock".

RETURN

Return the bike to an official station.

Lock the bike by pressing down the lever of the framelock at the rear part of the bike.

A beep will confirm the successful return of the bike and end of your rental with the simultaneous appearance of a message on the nextbike app.

If a station is full, place the Bike directly next to the station and follow the return process.

TEMPORARY STOP (OPTIONAL)

Open the nextbike app and press “Pause”.

After that lock the bike by pressing down the lever of the framelock at the rear part of the bike.

A beep will confirm that the bike is locked.

In order to end the temporary stop mode, press "Continue Ride" on the nextbike app, the framelock will be released and you can continue your journey.

PRICES

Up to four bikes can be rented simultaneously on one account. Monthly & Annual subscriptions and special rates generally only apply to the first bike.

MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION

€20 Per Month

120 Minutes per day, whether used consecutively or in intervals for conventional bikes.

If you exceed the 120min daily rental you will automatically be charged the Pay As You Go rate.

30 Minutes per day, whether used consecutively or in intervals for e-bikes & mountain bikes.

If you exceed the 30 min daily rental you will automatically be charged the Pay As You Go rate.

Automatically renewed unless cancelled before the next month renewal.

Subscriptions are valid for only one bike per subscriber! Extra bikes rented at the same time by the subscriber are on Pay As You Go fare!

ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION

€120 Annual Subscription

120 Minutes per day, whether used consecutively or in intervals.

Automatically renewed unless cancelled before the next month renewal.
